We were a bit short staffed yesterday between illnesses, holidays and people attending courses and so it was all hands on deck to process the orders, on what was quite a busy Thursday. One of the things about working in a small business is that most of us are trained to do a number of roles so as we can fill in when needed or help out when it's busy. I even had a stint in the warehouse during Mother's Day as the "gift card attacher" and "paperwork matcher-upper" and I really enjoyed it. It also got my step count for the day up significantly higher than when I'm in the office! Yesterday I was chief  "order printed & processor" although Lynne & Kate also helped me with the phones, email and livechat too thank goodness.Kate hasn't been very well of late and so I also said I'd snap some photo's for this Daily Dispatch blog instead of her. As I had to work quickly I made a choice to photograph the lovely "Create Your Own Gift Baskets" shipping that day as they were all lined up to be checked anyway. When people design their own gift our amazing packing fairies work their magic to make all the items fit together and look amazing, but we just like to give them a quick double check in case there is a little gap to fill or an item needs to be replaced etc.The first two pictures are birthday gift basket creations, one for a Grandma in Newport and the second for a Mum in Roslin. Their families wanted to wish them all the best for their special day. The Grandmother basket contained some lovely organic porridge oats, organic lemonade, sticky toffees, a birthday cake and a plaque with the message ""Enjoy the little things in life because one day you will look back and realise they were the big things." The basket for mum was ordered by her son in Australia & he selected some cheese, sticky toffees, chocolates, fizz and a special sentiments candle with the message "Happy Birthday."The 3rd picture is a wonderful Get Well creation for a work colleague, and you can see a lot of thought has gone into the item selection. From a choice of 2 magazines, male pampering goodies, a sentiments candle, Easter Egg to coconut water, marshmallows and teabags. It's also themed with a Get Well balloon and luxury gift card for their message to wish him a speedy recovery. The 4th picture is a Thinking of You gift from a gentleman to his partner in Lutterworth. He sad he was sending this to her help pass the day more quickly and to let her know he is thinking of them all every second of the day. He picked a lovely selection of healthy fruit, coconut water and snacks such as crisps, popcorn, pretzels and biscuits.
