As I had mentioned before, a few months ago, I had caved and hopped onto the adult colouring book bandwagon that seems to be taking the world by storm and not planning to slow down any time soon. I'm ashamed to say that I am still on the same colouring book as I started with, it's surprisingly thick in pages and you'd think a simple picture wouldn't take that long to finish. Wrong! Each picture takes me at least 3-4 hours to finish colouring, and considering I only do 30 minute sessions once per day, you can imagine how slow my progress is through the book. In fact, I'd sooner use up my colouring pencils right down to the last inch before I could finish the book, I think. As such, I had been on a lookout for new potential colouring pencils to play with in the future. And voila! Today we have a basket with a set of pencils and a book leaving us today. This customer creation was organised by Dina (London, UK) as a 'thinking of you' gift to Charlotte who is currently in hospital to have her baby early! Dina hopes this basket would help distract Charlotte from the dullness of the hospital bed (and maybe early contractions) Nothing like putting on a face mask in bed and colouring as the mask sets, right? Who knows, maybe the baby would come out being as artistically inclined as the mummy.Okay, so colouring wise, I've not used these pencils before (I'm still a newbie to this) but Faber Castell is a reputable stationery company and their pencils are apparently well know in the colouring community as a bit hardier than the other brands. Which is fantastic because that mean there's minimal lead breakage within the wood casing if you, say, have a habit of accidentally knocking pencils off the desk and to the floor with your elbow. And whilst this set of Faber Castells are not it, the colouring community is constantly raving about this company's really high-end colouring pencils - the Polychromos set - which is known to produce some outstanding pieces..... and costs just as much to buy - my eyes water when I check the prices online the other night. Sad to say I won't be getting them any time soon.
