Valentine's Day 2019 is now just over a week away (14th February) and your thoughts may be turning to what you are going to do for the big day. This might be your first Valentine's Day together or you may have lost count, but either way it is nice to mark the occasion is some way. A simple card may suffice, or the traditional flowers or chocolates. But what do you get the man in your life, who may not appreciate these things?

1 Ask ThemSometimes it is just better, and less stressful, to ask them what they would like. Yes it isn't particularly romantic as the element of surprise isn't there, but at least you know you are getting them something they really like. I tend to ask my husband for ideas and then maybe get a little something extra I have thought of myself, so there is still a bit of a surprise involved.2. Meal/Drinks OutMany would say men are simple creatures and so a nice meal out or going out for drinks, to a place of their choice, will be more than enough to make them feel loved. This doesn't have to be on Valentine's Night itself if long queues and set menus don't appeal to you, but the simple booking of a "date night" for sometime soon will suffice.3. TicketsThis is another favourite of mine, getting tickets to a show of some description. A concert, a show or a comedian, the choice is yours. The good thing is he'll need someone to go with and so it's a win-win situation for you.4. Token GiftIf you don't celebrate Valentine's Day in a big way but simply want to mark the occasion, then a token gift can be your answer here. Opting for their favourite bottle of gin, whiskey or wine etc or buying that thing they keep meaning to (gadget, wallet, thing for the car) but haven't gotten around to yet.5. Gift Basket or HamperThis might not be something that springs to mind immediately, but a Valentine's Gift Basket is a brilliant way to put together some of their favourite things and present them in a way to make them feel really special and loved. You may be quite creative and able to put something together yourself, or you can select one that's been put together for you. It's also really exciting having something delivered for you when you aren't expecting it.We have come up with a range of Gift Baskets especially for Valentine's Day, many of which are themed for your partner. This blog is taking a look at our Boyfriend & Husband Themed Gift Baskets. These are perfect presents for your boyfriend or husband on Valentine's Day, but would also work for his birthday or to to cheer him up as they don't specifically mention Valentine's Day on them.To browse our selection of Gifts For Boyfriends, please just click here and to see Gifts For Husbands please just click here. Many of the foodstuffs and drinks remain the same, but the mug and gift card messages are changed to reflect if the gifts is for your boyfriend or husband.  Of course you can also select any other Gift Basket or Hamper form our 'All Year Round' range if you'd prefer a different combination of items. If you write in the comments box or select 'Valentine's' as the occasion our Team will know to include a Valentine's Day Gift Card and Gift Wrap to theme if for you.Any special requests please just live chat with us or drop us an email and we're happy to help.
