Update To Delivery Schedule Due To Adverse Weather Conditions
Over the last few days we've been hearing a lot about Hurricane Ophelia as it has been approaching the British Isles. The Republic of Ireland was forecast to be the worst hit, as well as Northern Ireland and this has now been extended to include Scotland and the North of England.
Late last night the decision was made to close schools in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Many Public Services, Businesses & Travel Networks have also been closed today in ROI as a precaution. With the worst of the storm not due to reach us until 3pm today (Monday) we had opened for business as usual. Although it is currently a bit blustery, the sun is shining so it is hard to imagine what might be coming. The Amber Weather Warning has now been brought forward to 12 Noon today, and businesses are being advised to close early. With this in mind our cut off point for today's dispatches has been brought forward to 12 Noon and our offices will be closing at 2.30pm.The courier companies we partner with have confirmed that at this stage they will still be collecting parcels from us today. While we are still dispatching your Gift Basket and Hamper orders on their express delivery services, we are unable to guarantee delivery will take place tomorrow (Tuesday.) Unfortunately due to the severe weather warning there are likely to be delays to flights, sailings and also to anything travelling by road. Some of Friday's dispatches, for delivery today, have also been affected as couriers were not allowed to carry out deliveries in several counties in Ireland today.Your tracking information will be uploaded to your account shortly & you will be able to monitor the progress of your package. Should the tracking information not update to "with courier" or "on van" tomorrow morning, it is likely delivery has been delayed. At this present time, our offices are scheduled to re-open tomorrow (Tuesday 17th) at 9am and we will be able to assist with any delivery queries then. We will post an update if this changes once the impact of the storm is known. We hope that everyone is able to stay safe for the rest of today and tonight, and hopefully normal service can resume tomorrow.Stay Safe Everyone. Many thanks,The BG Team
