BasketsGalore has a special connection with Australia, as it was there that Lynne (and our Aunt Liz) came up with the idea of a gift delivery service. She (and our brother Neil) lived in Australia for a while & found it difficult and expensive to send gifts home to the UK and Ireland while living there and so set up a website to deliver gifts on behalf of customers abroad. International Customers can order on our websites for delivery to their friends and family "back home" and only pay a local shipping fee.Fifteen years on and BasketsGalore has many lovely Australian customers, many of whom have shopped with us since the beginning. We wanted to wish you all a 'Happy Australia Day' which is celebrated today, 26th January. Australia Day is the official National Day of Australia. It marks the anniversary of the arrival of the first British ships to the shores of New South Wales in 1788. (Source: Wikipedia)Happy Australia DayIt's a double celebration for our little brother James & his wife Lauren too, as they have now officially become Australian Citizens. We woke up this morning to this lovely photograph of them. Congratulations little brother & sister-in-law! We love you, and miss you lots but can't wait to come and visit. :)James & Lauren Aussie Citizens
