I'm very excited this week as we are moving house! The last time I moved was into our first home (8 years ago) and so we didn't have much furniture, whereas this time we seem to have LOTS. I actually moved into my sisters house too & we laughed as she sneakily left some old gift baskets and boxes in the roof space from the days BasketsGalore used to operate from home. She said they were good for extra insulation!I panicked a bit at the start of the month when I looked up a "Moving House Checklist" and it mentioned doing things weeks and even months in advance. Luckily we were still able to book a removal company and organise tenants for our current house before the deadline. We even got quite a lot packed over the last 2 weekends, while family kindly entertained Rowan (our 2.5 year old) for us. Now there are only a couple of days to go with still so much to do. I also can't help with any heavy lifting seeing as I have my lovely baby bump, but I am chief packer-upper instead. They say moving house is one of the most stressful times of your life and so doing it while pregnant is probably not ideal! I thought I'd ask you, our lovely followers, for any tips to make the move go as smoothly as possible & keep stress to a minimum? It has come in handy working for BasketsGalore as we have plenty of empty cardboard boxes, bubble wrap, tape guns and even a little red van to make full use of.It's easy to see why house warming hampers are so popular as gifts too, as I'm sure it is somewhat chaotic arriving into your new home surrounded by all your stuff, but not knowing where anything is. A lovely hamper of goodies would go down very well at such a time, not to mention something cold and sparkly to toast new beginnings with!Do let me know if you have any top tips for when it comes to moving house, or what house warming gifts you have sent in the past?
