I treated myself to an early Valentine's Day present last week by getting my engagement ring altered, and now it's like having a brand new sparkler on my hand! When we got engaged 7 -8 years ago we were lucky enough to have been given some jewellery from family members. They no longer wore it and wanted us to make use of the gold and diamonds, lucky us eh as we didn't have lots to spend on a ring. We took it to this amazing jewellers in town, Robinson Goldsmiths, who had also created my sisters engagement ring and they talked us through some designs. Although I was really pleased with it, after a while I wished the diamonds sat up a little higher to catch the light a bit more. The 5 stone cluster setting sat quite close to my finger and my wedding ring has a little cut out of it so the 2 can sit perfectly together. It was only a little niggle & I happily wore it all this time. It was only when I got a new ring for my other hand at Christmas time that I thought about the possibility of altering it. The new ring was only a cubic zirconia solitaire, but sat up high and caught the light. We happened to be in town one morning and I popped into Robinson's to explain my thinking. They said they could add a little more gold to the band and raise the setting up, yet it would still sit closely to my wedding ring & not cost too much either.  Within a few days the job was done & I am in love with it all over again now! If Andy is reading this he will be thinking "Happy Days" and that there is no need to get me anything for Valentine's Day now! After the Christmas rush, and the New Year sale the next major gift giving occasion to fall is Valentine's Day. Roses and flowers still tend to be the gift of choice for most on Valentine's Day or perhaps a meal out, but we try to challenge this with our Valentine's Day Gift Baskets and a cosy night in!We're busy adding new Valentine's Day Baskets to the range for 2016, so please check back soon for details. In the meantime here is a sneak preview of what's to come.Dolce Vita Floral Romance
