When BasketsGalore was just a baby, Lynne & Selina started by delivering gifts locally and as well as gift baskets they also provided bouquets as these could be hand delivered. I managed to track down some pictures of their creations in the BG archives, showing floral gifts for Valentine's Day and Mother's Day.When BasketsGalore moved online in 2003, this significantly widened the delivery reach available to us as we were able to team up with a courier delivery service. The idea was to be an exciting alternative gift to flowers, as these wouldn't travel so well if having to go into a delivery box. Over the years however, we started receiving requests for a gift basket and floral bouquet together.Unfortunately this wasn't practical with a traditional bouquet of flowers as they needed to be transported with water.  We wondered if there was a way around the flowers needing a constant water supply and it was then we came up with the idea of a "Flowering Plant Gift Basket". By flowering plant we mean a potted plant in soil, such as a rose bush, begonia or chrysanthemum. These are available in lots of lovely colours, perfect for different occasions and also look really pretty too.Our first version of a floral basket was just that. The emphasis was placed on the flowering plant in a basket, which was accompanied by a few tasty treats. We then moved onto a flowering plant in a separate gift basket, which was sent along with a mini hamper of treats.Until finally, we reached the perfect combination of flowering plant and treats a plenty! You now get a full basket worth of treats (either food, fruit or pampering goodies) and also a pretty plant in an attractive gift bag. Click here to check out all the amazing combinations & the occasions they can be sent for.In fact, these gift are so popular these days that we now get a twice weekly delivery of beautiful flowering plants directly to our door so as we never run out. What do you think of our flowering gifts, both past and present?
