From November through to April time always flies by in basket-land as we have so many gift giving holidays and occasions falling during this time period. There's the busiest time of year - Christmas, followed by New Year, our Winter Sale, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and Easter. This involves a lot of preparation before we even get to the fulfillment, delivery and after sales care so you can see how it flies by.People often ask us what the next occasion is, but apart from International Mother's Day in May and Father's Day in June, there aren't any other major occasions we concentrate on. Instead we concentrate on all the smaller occasions that are going on everyday without people giving them much thought. These smaller occasions, holidays or "reasons" to send a gift are what keep our business going all year round. The "big" occasions are a bonus and without the mammoth holiday of Christmas it would be difficult to operate during the rest of the year unless you just wanted it to a lifestyle business, supporting one or two wages. So what are these other gift giving "reasons"? There are many, many reasons, but I've highlighted the "Big 5" below.
  1. Birthdays
  2. Get Well
  3. Congratulations
  4. Thank You
  5. Hospitality/International Holidays
Birthday's are of course a major occasion when it is someone close to us, I just mean it's not major as in everyone doesn't celebrate their birthdays on the same day.Get Well Gift Baskets are amongst our most popular, and the best sellers tend to include fresh fruit, snacks, magazines, puzzles and/or pampering treats.Congratulations Gift Baskets can be divided into a number of occasions/reasons such as a new job, new baby. new home, engagement, wedding, anniversary or retirement.Thank You Gifts are also extremely popular and again we can be saying thank you for a very wide range of reasons. It's normally along the lines of "thanks for your help with...."Hospitality Gifts tend to be welcome gifts for clients, customers or staff and International Holidays are other holidays we get a little spike of orders for such as St Patrick's Day, International Women's Day, Chinese New Year, Eid ul-Fitr & Halloween. For which reason are you most likely to send a gift for?
