The arrival of a new baby is a big event in any family, whether it's a first baby or a second or third etc. Lots of people now like to include older siblings when they plan to send a new baby gift so as they don't feel left out. As families tend to be smaller these days there isn't the same support network of brothers and sisters and a new baby can be quite disconcerting for his or her siblings. There are quite a few specialist products available such as big brother or big sister T-Shirts, Teddies, Mugs etc or if you like you can put together a little gift bag full of stickers, crayons an appropriate book to read to the new baby.  There are some little books that explain all about a new baby with stickers to add and help little ones to interact and understand.  Other than these maybe just a big boy or girl toy from the new baby is always very welcome. For an older child how about a personalised pencil case or pencils which they could take to school to tell their fellow classmates the 'news' as this would create a talking point for class discussions? A badge would do this as well and these can be obtained from card shops. We have a Siblings or Big Brother/Sister section on our Create Your Own Baby Gift website so that if you are sending a baby gift basket you can easily add a teddy, toy, game or colouring book to the gift for their sibling(s).Do you have any suggestions for sibling gifts your little one maybe received? Andrea is particularly interested at the moment, as baby no. 2 is arriving in August and she's not sure how happy Rowan (2.5 years) will be! He is train obsessed though, so she's thinking some Thomas The Tank Engine track or trains from the new baby will swing it. Good hunting!
