St Patrick's Day is celebrated on 17th March each year as this marks the date of the death of St Patrick, the Patron Saint of Ireland. As well as celebrating St Patrick & the arrival of Christianity into Ireland, it also celebrates Irish heritage and culture. (Wikipedia)
It is a national holiday in Ireland, but is also widely celebrated around the world in countries where there are many Irish people or their descendants living , such as Great Britain, Canada, the United States, Argentina, Australia and New Zealand.
Celebrations tend to include wearing green clothes, festivals, parades and attending church services. The restrictions of Lent are lifted for the day to allow people to indulge in food and alcohol. Gifts to celebrate the day are also popular and with the lifting of Lent, a food & drink hamper is the perfect present.
We are lucky enough to stock lots of Irish Food Products from small, artisan producers and so many of our hampers are already dominated by Irish produce. We also have St Patrick's Day themed gift baskets with a stronger Celtic theme.
Our sister site Irish Gourmet specialises in food hampers filled with products from around Ireland, and they are particularly popular at Christmas time too. You can also create your very own hamper by browsing through all their little stores (click on the shop front images).
