Ferdia Fine Foods have been producing luxury handmade chocolates since 2004. However, Ferdia wasn't the original name for this chocolate company. When we first started ordering their chocolates for our gift baskets they were known as Danucci. They re-branded to Ferdia Irish Artisan Chocolates in March 2013,  after the legend warrior "Ferdia" and because Ardee (where they are located) translates as "Baile átha Fhirdhia" in Irish.Ferdia filled a position in the market for high quality chocolates and they not only taste delicious, but make a high presentational impact with their attractive packaging in bold pinks and black. Even the chocolates themselves are ALMOST too pretty to eat, as each one is hand decorated.Over the years their packaging and their brand has evolved, so we thought we'd take a look back through the archives. Now they even produce seasonal packaging for occasions such as Easter, Mother's Day and Christmas. We also thought we'd show you some examples of these scrumptious chocolate selections appearing in our Chocolate gift baskets and Christmas hampers, both in the past and presently. Have you been lucky enough to taste Ferdia's choccies or receive them in one of our gift baskets?
