Can you believe my baby boy is now a big 6 months old already? Where did that time go? 6 months is a major milestone for any baby and parents, as they can do so many new things by this age. Rowan was already too long for his moses basket by 4.5 months, so has been in his own room for a good few weeks now. He loves stretching out in his "big boy" cot. He can sit up himself (for a good while before eventually toppling over!) so he's also into his high chair now and enjoying trying proper food now (weening) such as baby porridge, rice and fruit & vegetable purées. He also loves being in the "sit up" part of his pram, jumping in his door bouncer/swing and can make his "walker" go backwards!

It really has been a busy few weeks for him between 4 and 6 months. He seems like a little boy already, rather than a baby. You do worry that time is going by too quickly & you miss the "newborn" stage, but it is also lovely to see him growing, learning and really enjoying himself. He loves spending time with his grandparents and cousins, although we have noticed he doesn't like loud noises lately, such as other children shouting or crying. I don't think teeth are far off either, as his teething toys are getting a real going over at the moment!

We are also still receiving gifts from our lovely friends & family for him at this age and based on my own experience I would recommend items such as chew toys, bibs, booties/slipper shoes, books or activity toys for babies of this age. This is based on Rowan's teething & dribbling, love of standing up/bouncing and being into absolutely everything he can get his hands on (so I need to keep him entertained!) You can pick from our range of Kids Gift Baskets if you are looking for one for a slightly older child, however many of our pre-designed baby baskets are also suitable for older babies as we stock clothes in a variety of sizes, from newborn to 1-2 years.

What were your experiences of babies at 6 months? Stressful or Stress-free, and what baby items would you recommend?
