We would like to wish everyone a Happy St Patrick's Day…..
St Patrick’s Day is on Monday 17th March, and it is a cultural and religious holiday that is named after Saint Patrick, the Patron Saint of Ireland and Nigeria.
It was made official on this date as this was the Christian Feast Day in the 17th century that commemorates the arrival of Christianity of Ireland.
This heritage is often celebrated with Irish songs, parades, festivals, music and lots of people dress up in the colour green with shamrock flowers.
People living in Ireland, Northern Ireland, Newfoundland and Labrador often get to enjoy this day as a public holiday, meaning a day off work! Everyone can then come together and enjoy the festivities surrounding the holiday, and perhaps a wee pint of Guinness! It's not just celebrated in Ireland, but really all around the world. There are an estimated 70 million Irish people. or their descendants, scattered around the globe. Some of the world's most famous landmarks were bathed in green and rivers like the one in Chicago go green too to celebrate.
At Baskets Galore many of the items we stock are produced in Ireland & we also offer a few specially themed St Patrick's Day Gift Baskets. Our sister company is based in Co Louth, so they are enjoying a day off today.
This St Patrick's Day Hamper is full of fresh, Irish produce including shamrock shaped shortbread, a selection of Irish cheese, Belfast teabags and Irish chocolates. They are also themed with green ribbon and a gift card.

They make perfect corporate gifts, but also make great personal gifts. For Irish people now living abroad you can send a "wee taste of home"!
