Our Taste Testing AfternoonIt's our favourite time of the week again, taste testing of course! This is the time we set aside each week to concentrate on our potential new products for our Gift Baskets and Hampers. We get a wide range of great local food producers contacting us on a regular basis in the hope that we will agree to stock their products. We love getting these new products in to expand our catalogue of gifts and products available for our hampers and baskets, but first they have to pass the all-important taste-testing! This week we got to sample some scrumptious chocolates from two potential-suppliers; The Gourmet Chocolate Pizza Company and CHOC+. Hurray! The Gourmet Chocolate Pizza CompanyThe Gourmet Chocolate Pizza Company is surely one of the more abstract business names we have come across @ Baskets Galore, but once you see the products you will know why. Luxury Milk, Dark and White chocolate fashioned into the shape of a pizza slice topped with cleverly designed 'pizza toppings', all made from delicious chocolate of course! Definitely a winning novelty combination for us at Baskets Galore. With professional packaging designed to suit the individual products these gifts are luxury and suitable for any occasion.Within the first day of the samples arriving, the Mini Heart was gone! There is always someone in the office that has a sweet tooth (or two!!) and it was gone within minutes. This is definitely a product that would look at home in our Valentine’s Day Gift Baskets, with it’s unique design and chocolate that just melts in your mouth.photo 1We sampled the Jelly Bean Jumble Chocolate pizza, the Crunchy Munchies, Mini Heart and the Chocolate Popcorn. All yummy products indeed despite leaving some of the more health concious among us feeling slightly guilty!Choc+This company sent us a plethora of chocolate goodies, ranging from three packs of different drinking chocolate to their selection of three Chocolate mixes. We had some difficult decisions amongst ourselves trying to pick which we wanted to try first! Personally my favourite was the chocolate and raspberry pie. This was a mix of chocolates crunchy meringue pieces and real raspberries, bringing back some nostalgic feelings of raspberry meringues in bitesize portions.photo 2I made a total of 7 workers a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows which went down a storm! I don’t like a lot of chocolate but these products are so unusual and attractive in their bright abstract packaging that I had to try it once.  I can safely say my mind has been changed regarding drinking chocolate, an awesome treat every now and again! Remember, all ingredients involved are 100% natural, in keeping with our Gourmet Product range! Here is a photo of the girls in our Admin department enjoying their hot chocolate:20140123_151352 Not a bad way to finish a Thursday afternoon if I don't say so myself!
