How we spent last December!

Welcome to the glamourous world of Christmas Hamper Assembly.

Welcome to our low cost humble factory, former home of a 1950s Industrial Development Board investment.

The Assembly points

We pile up thousands of basket containers.  We put all our gift hampers in a natural container either bamboo or wicker and then dress them.

The Sea of Hampers

Once the hampers are packed and dressed, they are placed in a branded box container and assigned to customers orders.

There are teams of people, taking orders and dispatching whilst the packing department is dealing with last minute requests.  For a very short period of time a sea of Basketgalore boxes can be seen from the Mezzanine platform above.

The Omen

One day a Robin Redbreast flew in and settled on a hamper.  It stayed for a few seconds and gave us just enough time to capture a really unusual moment.

The day a Robin flew into an industrial complex and came to rest on a Christmas Hamper.  We've been here for over a year and this is the only time that a bird has ever flown into our unit.

Maybe the bird was necessary to make us take photographs as we are usually so busy that we don't have time to capture in pictures a particularly frenetic time of the year.

We promise it wasn't photo-shopped!!

Last year was our first year with the benefit of having a forklift truck.  We were extremely impressed after years of back-breaking work pallet trucking and manual lifting.

We decided that we would treat ourselves to a forklift for next year as it was a significant time saver.  Fingers crossed it arrives in time for this Christmas period!
