We are always delighted to see the back of Christmas. Although that probably makes us sound terrible, those of you involved in retail will completely understand.
We spend half of our year planning & preparing for Christmas, so by the time December rolls around it feels like it has been Christmas forever. It's awful to feel like Scrooge when "normal" people start getting excited about it and all caught up in the romance of sparkly lights and trees and music. We don't experience any of that. In the space of 3 short weeks the world suddenly goes crazy with customers wanting to buy Christmas baskets. When you run a family business it's a one for all and all for one mentality. No-body escapes - and the only existance we have from very early morning to very late at night is work, work, work.

We get a couple of days off on Christmas and Boxing day - when we try to catch up on sleep and recover from the stresses of the last month. And then it's back to the grindstone when the couriers re-open, to resolve any delivery problems caused by the adverse weather conditions at end of December. The there are more orders to despatch. Then there's a mountain of accountancy work to do.

FINALLY the slog is over, and we come to this point at the end of January when we plan and launch the new 2010 range of gift baskets. We will be revamping our current ranges, and adding dozens more new exciting hampers and gift baskets across all sections. We're always trying to offer baskets that our customers will love, so if you do have any suggestions about the type of things you'd like to see please get in touch and let us know.
