It’s that time of year again when folks are deciding on which company to entrust with their Christmas gift hamper orders. Times are tough, but aren’t they always.
With the country in the grip of a recession this Christmas, orders will be of significant importance for individuals and companies alike. To use last year as an example, many organisations either didn’t send Christmas Hampers or went for the D.I.Y. approach. The financial organisations didn’t want to be seen using their customer’s hard earned cash on Christmas presents. Other companies either used cheaper options or made hampers up themselves to save money. The companies that chose to make their own hampers discovered that it was not quite so easy as they thought, and will be definitely using our service. As for the multi national organisations, we expect them to be back looking for the best value Christmas hampers in the world.
Baskets Galore has always prided itself on only sending out hampers and gift baskets that we would love to receive ourselves. It would be upsetting to open up a hamper at Christmas time and find the contents disappointing? What an anti-climax. This has happened to our own friends and family in the past, when they used other companies, which is why we are determined not to let it happen again. Baskets Galore was set up by this family eight years ago when my son and daughter came back from working in Australia. They had difficulty in finding good quality presents to send back home to me, their siblings and friends. So they decided to do something about it to avoid other mothers missing out too.
From time to time the family members hold taste-tests in the office, whenever new products are being introduced. (Once we only had one chocolate to sample and we had to cut it in 4). If we don’t enjoy a product then we do not sell it in our hampers regardless of cost. This ensures that only top quality products are used, as we have very discerning palates. As matriarch I am personally involved with presentation, as the final package must tick all the boxes on contents, container, decoration, packaging and delivery. I sometimes do some research our competition and am dismayed by some of the things they do such as, using miniature sized jars, doubling the contents by removing products from their boxes, putting in only ½ bottles that look full sized. Sometimes service charges are added at the final moment. I don’t like this approach as a customer and I refuse to allow it to be implemented within Baskets Galore.
I ‘m sure that if anyone received one of these hampers they would be disappointed. However, as they were probably gifts, then the person who sent them might not be aware of this. Perhaps it is simply commercial pressure. However, I am a keen believer that word gets around and that people have long memories. Rest assured that this will never happen when you send a hamper or gift basket from Baskets Galore and the number of people searching for our brand name reflects this. Take my word for it and the words of the many testimonials on our website.
