During the Summer of 2016, Lynne got in touch with the lovely people behind Bespoke Verse as she was interested in adding some of their designs to our "Inspired By" Family Themed Gift Baskets. They create "poetry-themed prints, goods and gifts that say just the right things with rhyme."Bespoke Verse was founded by Joanna Miller and she writes all the 'off the shelf' poems herself.  The family business was founded after Joanna made a rhyming speech at her wedding which brought the house down and after which she was inundated with requests for bespoke commissions. She recently appeared on the BBC's Dragon Den, which she blogs about here, and was told "That's the BEST PITCH I’ve ever heard on Dragons' Den" by Touker Suleyman, Dragon. In fact, Joanna's whole pitch was even in rhyme - impressive eh? We just wanted to say "Well Done" and share a bit of information on how their poems help to personalise our gift baskets. It was a hard choice deciding which products to pick & so I offered my assistance of course. First of all Lynne showed me the ' What Is A Son' plaque and asked me if it was true of her brother Neil.  I read it with a smile, but it wasn't until I got to the 'Birthday Forgetter' that I had to laugh, further on the 'Mid-Day Waker' was a definite memory of his younger days but,  thankfully, the 'A Solution Deviser' near the end of the verse just sums him up completely for me. When I read the 'What Is A Daughter' plaque next I had to ask Lynne why is a daughter a 'Present Buyer' when a son is a 'Birthday Forgetter' and she explained that daughters have to make up for the shortfall in their brothers! The 'Life Enhancer & Knows the Answer'  is the one that sums up Lynne. They do make a remarkable team, however, running Baskets Galore.(Editors Note: This is Andrea, Selina's other daughter, noticing that myself and our youngest brother James didn't get a mention here. Thanks mum!)There are a range of homeware gifts including mugs, aprons, tea towels and cushion covers and also stationery such as cards, notebooks and pencils. Or you can shop by occasion or recipient, so for a birthday, wedding, christening or retirement gift or one for a brother, sister, child, dad, mum, grandparent, friend or teacher. Baskets Galore have chosen several items to include from the many wonderful ones on offer. We went with a selection of prints, coasters, cards and tea towels which Victoria blogged about here back in September. The products are both functional and inspirational and most of all fun! We hope that you will enjoy finding out which traits are appropriate to you, as much as I did.  As a grandparent I picked out 'A Laughter, A Crafter, A Fun Looker After' as I think this sums me up, but I will ask the grandchildren to see if they agree! We also selected 'What is a Friend?', 'What is a Sister?', 'What is a Family?', 'What is a Mum?', 'What is a Dad?', and for Wedding Baskets 'What is a Marriage?' and 'What is Love?'Some of the tea towels are already featuring in a few of our personalised gift baskets and look out for more coming very soon.
